Canada’s Wonderland, the country’s premier amusement park, has just released the recipe for its iconic funnel cakes.
The amusement park is the symbol of fun times with family and friends, and is the highlight of everyone’s summer. Due to the lockdown imposed to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus COVID-19, Canada’s Wonderland is temporarily closed until further notice from the government.

In a gesture of goodwill, the park has shared the recipe to it’s iconic funnel cakes (complete with a recipe for their refreshing strawberry sauce) on it’s website, as a #FoodieFriday celebration. Canada’s Wonderland funnel cakes are a staple at the park, enjoyed by young and old alike. The cakes are known for being crispy, chewy and surprisingly light, topped off with powdered sugar, a signature strawberry sauce and paired with a generous heaping of vanilla flavored soft-serve ice cream. The recipe, altered to one that can be easily made in home kitchens, has been shared by the park’s Executive Chef Dilup Attygalla, and just in time too. With the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the world, many people across the globe have turned to cooking and baking at home while following lockdown rules. The most popular food trending on social media is bread, with ingredients such as flour and yeast being in high demand at groceries, supermarkets and online food stores.
